Doryn & Friends Episode 2 - with Juliet Hahn

May 8, 2021

I have started a new series called "Doryn & Friends" Many of you have requested to hear from real women, real stories and real experiences in our 40s.I’m joined by a new friend of mine, Juliet Hahn. I met Juliet on Clubhouse and we had instant chemistry. You are really going to laugh with this one! Juliet inspired a whole episode on our show, with Dr. Elizabeth Kavaler, by sending me this YouTube video... this should show you what you're in for. I was also a guest on her podcast recently and we had an amazing time together. This episode is a bit different, because it was a free-flowing conversation, but I am sure that if you tune in and listen, you will definitely have a lot of fun and learn something too.

Juliet is a health and fitness coach and she helps women beyond just their health and fitness. She now offers a workshop called Your Next Stop that empowers people to find their creative passion and turn it into a business. She also has her own podcast, called Your Next Stop

You can find more about Juliet on her website, iamjuliethahn.com or using her handle @iamjuliethahn or on Clubhouse @fulfilling.

They created the Somatica Method of Sex Therapy and Relationship Coaching that is experiential, practical, and effective. Sexual expression and communication skills can be learned and we offer step by step experiential practices so you can incorporate these new skills into your life.

Marriage Lessons Learned

Marriage Lessons Learned

April 10, 2021

I am beyond excited to be joined by Kim & Penn Holderness in this episode on marriage and lessons they have learned. Why should you listen to them talk about marriage?. Because they are REAL, they don't pretend to be experts, they have put the time in and are still doing the work. I have listened to every one of their podcasts and seen most of their silly YouTube videos and I just adore them and you will too if you don't already. In this episode they discuss what they have learned, how they have gotten through their ups and downs, Kim's anxiety and OCD and Penn’s ADHD, the ‘I love you’ finger, pet peeves, communication and many more stories from their journey as a family.

We also discuss their new book, Everybody Fights (which you should run to get or get the AUDIBLE because it's pretty much a super long podcast they way they do it and it's GREAT) https://amzn.to/2R4S7NV

In 2013, Penn and Kim hit publish on “XMAS Jammies” – a seemingly innocent video Christmas Card intended for their immediate family. Overnight, their video went viral on YouTube and they’ve been making goofy videos with their family ever since. Their family also continues to be one of the most sought-after content creators for family brands. Today, they own their own company, Holderness Family Productions, where Kim is Chief Executive Officer and Penn is Chief Creative Officer. As well as creating content for their channels, they also work alongside brands and agencies to shape product launches and marketing campaigns. Their book about improving communication in a marriage was released March 30, 2021.

You can find them at https://theholdernessfamily.com/ and you can get their book at https://amzn.to/2R4S7NV

Welcome back to a new episode where I am joined again by the amazing Dr. Lindsay Gibson, as we dive deeper into emotional immaturity. Bladder Incontinence in Your 40’s

Bladder Incontinence in Your 40’s

March 20, 2021

We don’t normally talk about this publicly, but I’m certain some of us have experienced the following situations. Not being able to sit through an entire movie, play, or show. Having to take an aisle seat on the air plane. Not being able to do jumping jacks or laughing while staying dry. Having to excuse yourself to use ‘the ladies room’ during meetings. Yes, I am talking about urinary problems and Doctor Elizabeth Kavaler is joining me to share her expertise with us.

Dr. Kavaler is the Medical Director of Total Urology Care of NY. She is double board certified in both Urology (men and women) and Urogynecology, also known as Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive surgeon. She is one of the preeminent experts in female urological disorders.

Discovering Your True Identity

Discovering Your True Identity

March 13, 2021

We all know how important discovering our identity is. But what about rediscovering our identity after years and years of believing we were someone else? Lindsay Blount reached out to me a while ago and her story is amazing. From finding out she is a donor conceived, through searching for her biological father and discovering many siblings she had no idea existed, her story is one of hope.

We talk about what our identity is, how much is nature vs. nurture, how we can cope with sudden changes in our beliefs and what we can learn from all this.

Female Sexual Dysfunction

Female Sexual Dysfunction

March 6, 2021

Welcome back to another episode where, this time, we tackle the issue of sexual dysfunction in women. I feel like we’re not talking about this enough, whereas male sexual dysfunction is multibillion dollar industry. I’m joined by expert Doctor Anita Clayton as we talk about problems that women might face in their sex life: FOD, GSM, HSDD, FSAD - a lot of acronyms, but they’ll all make sense once you listen.

Dr. Anita Clayton’s clinical practice and research interests focus on women’s mental health and sexual dysfunctions. She is the David C. Wilson Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences, with a secondary appointment as professor of clinical obstetrics and gynecology. She is board certified in psychiatry and neurology.
